NaPoWriMo Poems by You #7: Bees by Maia Luke

Sarah and Jeff Boyle

Bees

Science says
the bees
cannot fly.
But we can all
plainly see
that they can.
So what does this say
of humankind?
This says that we
will never
truly
understand
everything.
Yes,
we may be
at the top
of the food chain.
And yes,
we may be
the most developed
species.
But,
in the end,
there is always
something
to remind us
that we
are not kings.
To us,
our scientific
theories
are unbeatable,
superior,
unchanged.
But,
in the end,
there is always
something.
Something that we
cannot
understand.
In the end,
there is always
a bee.
