NaPoWriMo Poems by You #18: Food for Thought by Phanesia Pharel

Sarah and Jeff Boyle

We received too many poems from you guys during April to run them all during NaPoWriMo, so we're going to keep them coming until we get them all out into the world. Check back over the next couple of weeks as we roll the rest of them out. Here's today's!

Food for Thought

Pigs can't fly
Pig's don't lie
Pig's can't breathe
Under the burning heat of a meat factory
I put the bacon to my mouth
and a sudden thought goes south
Of 12 innocent perfect pink piglets
being fried
as they slowly die
and suddenly the bacon doesn't taste good anymore
